AJAR.id – Hello Ajarian! The next requirements when a person arrives in person to claim an item they have lost and which has been found are:

3. Identify Item in the Register

When the person has provided a description of the item, you should next attempt to locate the item in the Lost and Found Register. Where the claimant is seeking to claim an item that was reported as lost, you should turn to the Lost Items section of the Lost and Found Register to identify if a report was made about the item.

Does the information provided by the claimant align with what is recorded? If the information provided matches what is in the Register, you can proceed. Where answers are different from the information contained in the Lost and Found Register, you should involve management and advise them of your concerns.

Where the claimant is seeking to claim an item that was not reported as lost you should turn to the Found items section of the Lost and Found Register and look for an item matching the details provided by the person. Again, if the information provided matches what is in the Register, you can proceed – if not, involve management/your Supervisor.

4. Obtain the Item
